So I’ve been a good lad this week, and was at the gym 4 days running.
Literally! I committed myself to going to the gym each day and getting
in at least 30 minutes of running, and I did that. And not some slacker
pace either – 55+ rpm on the elliptical and keeping my heart rate over
142. The longest run was 45 minutes, but I’d set the goal at 30 because
I knew it was achievable… and I was glad for that yesterday (day 4),
because 45 would have been nigh impossible.
Also managed to find the ‘correct’ weights for benchpress and arm curls
for where I am right now. I’m still feeling it two days later. 3 sets
at 70 on the bench, and 3 sets at 40 on the arm curl. I suspect I’ll be
there for a couple of weeks. Oi. I’m also *way* off from where I used
to be on leg presses – 3 sets of 130. I used to be able to do about
All of these were of course topped off by relaxing in a very hot steam
room afterwards. Man I love that. I think my skin is rather liking it
Now I just need to get myself focused on doing crunches/situps. Those
things are a PITA that for some reason I hate doing at the gym -
probably because I can do so damned few of them.
