I’d like to apologize to the friends and acquaintances of mine who have pushed back over the years against various and sundry infringements on ‘freedom’. It’s really only the last couple of years that I’ve become so aware of just how ‘babysat’ we are. How much of it we just accept, whether it’s from government or private corporations. It’s quite recently that I’ve started pushing back myself.
It’s easy to get distracted from what’s happening slowly here in Canada when there are such blatant examples in the UK and US. After all, it could be worse. Why yes, it could be worse. It’s getting worse, and every time we fail to push back and keep what’s ours we lose it.
And while a bit has been made of the fact I’ve been reading up on anarchism, I have yet to see an argument presented that would sway me over. I’m currently some conflicted mish-mash of anarcho-libertarian capitalist with a lingering hint of cryptofascist. I can’t help it, I think I know better
